Boarders and day pupils will be attached to one of our 13 mixed boarding and day Houses of up to 70 pupils.
Two thirds of pupils are boarders but day pupils can equally enjoy the benefits of wrap-around care, activities, sport and all-round provision. Weekends are busy and special activities are laid on for those who do not go home after sport.
The Houses are at the centre of pastoral care with teams, including a Housemistress or Housemaster (HM), getting to know the pupils very well. Their job is to ensure the mental and physical health, wellbeing and academic progress of each and every pupil in their care.
Each house has a slightly different character but whichever house you are placed in will be the best one for you – there is a friendly rivalry between houses in competitions but the quality of care is expected to be equally high in all houses and is monitored and supported by a large pastoral team.
Pupils in Years 7 and 8 will be part of Lower School, based in the Russell Dore building. They will have a specific curriculum and the chance to gradually familiarise with Haileybury life, whilst having access to the specialist facilities available to all pupils.
