Teacher of Geography

Teacher of Geography

Permanent, Full-Time, Part-Time will also be considered, Term-Time

Closing Date: 28 February 2023, midday.

Start Date: September 2023

Haileybury is looking to appoint an outstanding Teacher of Geography for years 7-13, including GCSE, A Level and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The position will suit either an experienced teacher or someone new to the teaching profession.

We have four classrooms, all equipped with ViewSonic Touchscreen Monitors, and a comprehensive supply of fieldwork equipment. We currently work with the Field Studies Council to provide fieldwork opportunities for our pupils, with recent trips to FSC Nettlecombe Court for A Level geographers, and to FSC London and Epping Forest for our large GCSE cohort. The department also runs an annual trip to Iceland for GCSE geographers. We would particularly welcome applications from those who have an interest in field trips and fieldwork, and indeed who would be enthusiastic about helping us to develop our fieldwork provision further.

In the KS3 year groups, we teach a variety of topics to cover the issues of today, including climate change, development and globalisation. At GCSE, we follow the AQA specification, and at A Level we follow that of Eduqas. Experience of teaching the IBDP is desirable but not essential.
