Haileybury MUN 30th anniversary

Haileybury’s Model United Nations (MUN) conference celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2025, marking a remarkable journey from fewer than 100 attendees to hosting the largest school-based MUN conference in the United Kingdom. This milestone is even more significant as the event now offers over 850 delegate positions, surpassing the previous UK record of 650—also set by Haileybury—and securing its place as the largest MUN conference held at a school worldwide.
To commemorate this special anniversary, a documentary began filming in September, capturing the spirit and scale of this extraordinary event. This week, pupils officially launched the MUN conference to their peers, encouraging them to participate as delegates and represent nations who research, debate, and collaborate on solutions to pressing global issues through lobbying and discussion.
This year’s conference will take place from Friday 21 March to Sunday 23 March and there are numerous opportunities for pupils across the School to get involved, whether as delegates, moderators, members of the press, or part of the admin team. Training sessions are already underway, and with over 200 Haileybury pupils participating last year, the School hopes to see even greater involvement for this 30th-anniversary celebration.
