LAMDA Tutor

LAMDA Tutor

Casual; Term time

Closing date: Friday 27 February 2026 at 12 noon

Haileybury is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring LAMDA Tutor to join its Drama Department.

Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and inspirational practitioner to nurture pupils’ performance skills and confidence through LAMDA training. Pupils from all year groups are offered the chance to prepare for LAMDA examinations from Grades 1 to 8, with the higher grades (6–8) carrying UCAS tariff points.

Pupils are taught individually, in pairs , or in small groups of up to four, ensuring a personalised approach that supports individual strengths and ambitions. Areas of study include Acting, Verse & Prose, Speaking in Public and Reading for Performance.

The LAMDA Tutor will be responsible for delivering weekly lessons, primarily Speaking in Public but some Acting, selecting suitable repertoire, preparing pupils for graded examinations, managing and updating the timetable, and writing pupil reports in line with the school reporting cycle. In addition, the post-holder will contribute to the planning and delivery of the annual LAMDA Showcase event.

This is a casual, term-time only position, with hours dependent on pupil demand and the needs of the School. While there is no guaranteed minimum, the anticipated commitment is approximately 25  40-minute sessions per week from April, rising to around 35 sessions per week from September.

Lessons are scheduled both during and around the academic day, and careful timetabling is required to ensure that pupils do not repeatedly miss the same academic lessons within any half term. Tuition is delivered weekly, throughout the term.

As a boarding school operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a flexible approach is essential, and occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend commitments may be required.

Please see the candidate brief for further information.
