Teacher of Biology
Closing Date: Wednesday 15 March 2023, 12 noon
Haileybury is looking for a dynamic and committed teacher to teach from Lower School 1 through to the Upper Sixth. The Lower School pupils (Years 7 and 8) follow a bespoke course that will require teaching across the sciences. In Removes (Year 9) our pupils start the Edexcel International GCSE course. The Sixth Form pupils will undertake either A Level biology with AQA or the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. In addition, we deliver the Environmental Systems and Societies course for the IBDP.
The nature of a 24 hour a day, 7 days per week boarding school requires staff to work flexibly and as the School is used by pupils at weekends, which is also the time most parents visit the School, there will be a requirement for the job holder to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
More information can be obtained in the candidate brief attached.
To apply for the above position, please complete the enclosed Application Form, with reference to the candidate brief and stating your salary expectations, and return it to email@example.com by 15 March 2023.
Applicants should be aware that we cannot consider an application unless the attached application form has been filled in completely. Please be aware that your application form should include your full employment history and any previous employer may be approached by the School. Incomplete application forms may be returned. The School reserves the right to make an appointment before the closing date. Candidates are therefore encouraged to apply as soon as possible. We aim to ensure that our staff body reflects the diversity of our pupil body and therefore encourage candidates from diverse backgrounds to apply.
Haileybury is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants for the above post must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including reference checks with previous employers, prohibition checks and a criminal record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service. Any employment offer will be subject to the successful completion of these background screening checks.
