VEX Engineers shine
Following last week’s competition, we are thrilled to announce that Haileybury pupils have qualified for the Vex Robotics World Championships in Dallas, Texas, from Saturday 10 to Friday 16 May 2025. The competition is an amazing opportunity where the pupils will be competing against some of the most impressive engineering and robotics teams from around the world. There will be 420 teams, and our team will be one of seven from the UK representing our country!
“This year’s VEX IQ Nationals was an unforgettable experience for teams Haros and Power Surge. The competition was fierce, emotions ran high, and both teams pushed themselves to new heights in their debut on the National stage.
Haros showcased their skill, determination, teamwork and sportsmanship, securing a top 10 finish in an incredibly competitive field and winning the award for the most unique robot. Haros’ strategic gameplay and consistent performance were testament to their hard work throughout the season.
Meanwhile, Power Surge had an amazing, incredible debut season, proving that they are a force to be reckoned with. In Power Surge’s first year, they fought their way to being divisional winners and National Championship runners-up, exceeding expectations and demonstrating teamwork, energy and resilience under pressure.
The competition was a true rollercoaster of emotions. Every match was filled with excitement, tension, and moments of triumph. Both teams faced challenges but adapted quickly, proving their innovation, quick reactions and problem-solving skills.
We couldn’t be prouder of our achievements. This experience has only fuelled our passion for robotics, and we are excited to see what the future holds for both teams!”
