Outdoor Adventures

We are very fortunate to have this stunningly beautiful space, and it’s an important part of the Haileybury education to get pupils out into nature and enjoying that environment. We have a 500-hectare estate – that’s a lot of nature for them to get into, but it’s also equally about appreciating beauty and understanding their environment.

Deputy Head (Co-Curricular)

Haileybury offers an immersive and dynamic programme of outdoor activities designed to develop leadership, confidence, teamwork, and resilience through a wide range of challenging activities.

Our stunning 500-acre campus allows pupils to engage in exciting weekly outdoor pursuits such as climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, bushcraft, and outdoor cooking, supported by excellent facilities and extensive woodland areas.

The curriculum includes nationally recognised qualifications like the Duke of Edinburgh Award at Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, alongside exciting off-site and overseas expeditions, such as recent climbs of Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp.

This comprehensive outdoor education experience fosters personal growth, physical fitness, and adventurous spirit, embodying Haileybury’s commitment to all-round education and preparing pupils for life beyond school.
