Haileybury pupils triumph in Swimming, Lacrosse, Fencing and Hockey National Championships

What a week it has been for Haileybury pupils in the National Championships!

Starting with fencing, congratulations to Madeline who yesterday won the National Schools’ Fencing Championships. This is another wonderful result for Madeline who earlier this month was selected to represent Great Britain at the World Championships in Bulgaria.

In swimming, congratulations to Maja, Alice, Adeola and Laura for winning the girls’ U18 Medley Relay National Final on Friday at the London Olympic Aquatic Centre as part of the Bath & Otter Cup.  The girls qualified 3rd fastest through the heats for the national final and produced a stunning performance to stand at the top of the podium.

Congratulations also to the sensational U15 girls’ lacrosse team who won the National Championships yesterday, winning 3-1 (2-0 at half time) in the final, after overcoming Dunnottar, Stowe, Berkhamsted and Claremont Fan Court in the group stage and Guildford High, Godolphin, Putney High School and St Helens in the knockouts.

Finally, the boys also put in a tremendous performance and won the U16 boys Hockey East Championships yesterday.

Well done to all!
