Haileybury GCSE pupils achieve record number of A* grades

More than 30 of Haileybury’s GCSE pupils have this year achieved 5 or more A*s, with 63% of the 119 candidates obtaining A*- A grades. This is the largest number of A*s achieved by our pupils to date.

Some star performers include Francis Hunt (BFr), who achieved 10 A*s and an A; Jessica Billings (C), Elizabeth Bird (C), Mark Walther (Th) and Benedict Tottman (Tr) with 9 A*s and 2 As; and Henry Bishop (K), Emma Horsburgh (Alb) and Nonye Okoli (C) with 9 A*s and 1A.

"This exam success is due to the hard work put in by our pupils and teachers, combined with parental support. I would particularly like to commend the hard work of those pupils who turned things around to matriculate into the Sixth Form," says The Master, Joe Davies.

These results are on the back of Haileybury’s International Baccalaureate and A Level pass rate, and reflect the culture of increasingly high standards, hard work and intellectual curiosity that pervades the school.
