Welcome
from the Master

People make a school great and we are a community bound by a shared belief in the primacy of supporting the progress, personal development and wellbeing of our pupils. Academic ambition and intellectual curiosity sit alongside a remarkable co-curricular programme and everything we do is based on ensuring that every pupil feels known and valued. Strong and caring relationships between pupils and staff enable our pupils to discover their interests and pursue their passions, both in and outside the classroom.

Our pupils are our North Star. We are committed to:

  • achieving outstanding outcomes by inspiring, encouraging and empowering
  • building confidence and resilience by nurturing, challenging and supporting
  • developing character by living our values, promoting service to others and increasing self-awareness
  • uniting our community through shared values and aspirations

Haileybury’s success is built on the talents and dedication of everyone in our community, as well as the collaborative relationships which are so central to our ethos. We are confident and ambitious and look to the future with a sense of optimism, but we hold dear those values and traditions which have stood the test of time.  We are committed to offering a world-class education which ensures that every pupil leaves Haileybury equipped with the values, skills and credentials they need to thrive.

‘Haileybury 2030’ provides the key headlines of a more comprehensive five-year plan for Haileybury, which was created with input from across the school community and approved by Council. It offers a roadmap as to how we will serve our pupils, families, colleagues and wider community in the years ahead and makes clear which peaks we next seek to summit.

This five-year plan rests on four pillars: our Purpose, People, Provision and Place. It reflects our commitment to working tirelessly to ensure that Haileybury continues to inspire the great thinkers, leaders and doers of the future.

As we secure our position as one of the United Kingdom’s great schools and build on our growing international reputation for educational excellence, we have every reason to move forward boldly and with conviction.
