"A Haileybury education is open-minded and forward-looking but it also draws on our rich heritage. It is an education that provides our pupils with a moral compass; it prepares them for the very best universities and for life as successful global citizens."
Martin Collier The Master
Founded in 1862, Haileybury is an independent co-educational boarding school which offers a fully-rounded education for boys and girls aged 11 to 18.
We offer a dedicated Lower School for Years 7 and 8, a wide range of GCSE and (I)GCSEs, and the choice of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A Levels in Sixth Form.
In the 2016 Sunday Times independent school league table, Haileybury was the highest co-ed boarding school for IB Diploma results and 31st for A Levels and GCSEs. Our aim is to get every pupil into their first-choice university.
A key part of our philosophy is about empowering each child to follow their passion and to build their self-confidence.
So we also provide an enormous range of co-curricular opportunities, spanning everything from music and drama to sport and physical activities. There is also a huge number of clubs and societies to cater for all interests.
A caring environment is crucial to happiness and fulfilment. For those who come here, Haileybury is like a home-from-home. Warm and friendly, we give each and every child the confidence to find their identity, embracing failings as much as successes in their personal journey of discovery.
Please take some time to explore Haileybury on this website and then come and see us by arranging a personal visit or attending one of our Open Mornings.
We hope you'll like what you see - and that you, like many others, will choose a distinctive Haileybury education for your children.
