Edge Grove takes hockey title
In a repetition of last year’s final, Edge Grove beat Woodford Prep to take the Haileybury Prep Schools Hockey Tournament title. Edge Grove also boasted Man of the Tournament, Oliver Brooks-Ward.
Five schools participated in this year’s tournament (Edge Grove, Woodford Prep, Quainton Hall, St Paul’s Cathedral School and Lockers Park), which started with a round robin of games, where every team had a chance to play each other. All matches were closely fought and no one particular team looked to be coming out on top.
Third and fourth place play-offs were between Lockers Park and St Paul’s, with Lockers Park winning 2-0. The play-off for the first and second places, between Edge Grove and Woodford Prep, was won 3-0 by Edge Grove.
