Sports Facilities
The Sports Complex at Haileybury is an outstanding amenity for pupils, offering a wide range of facilities including, a 25-metre swimming pool, gym, all-weather pitches and indoor courts for squash, netball, table tennis and other sports.
A flexible facility
The Sports Complex at Haileybury places sport right at the heart of Haileybury life. Built in 2000, it is a modern, refreshing and fully-equipped facility for sports of all kinds.
Situated within the grounds of the College, the Complex is available for use primarily by the pupils but also by members of the public as part of Haileybury’s commitment to the local community.
Swimming pool
The centrepiece of the Sports Complex is our 25-metre deck-level heated swimming pool. Combining modern, bright and airy surroundings with changing facilities, the pool is an excellent facility for learning to swim, improving technique and, of course, competing in school competitions. The pool is also available for private functions.
Gym
Our gym is an inspiring place to train and keep fit in relaxed and friendly surroundings. The Technogym equipment provides an electronic cardiovascular fitness regime, enabling pupils to measure their performance against a personal history and suggesting a future training plan. Weight training facilities are also available to improve muscle weight and tone (improving protection to critical joints) and develop improved muscle-to-fat ratio.
Sports Hall
The Sports Hall offers a range of impressive facilities all under one roof. Flexibly arranged to accommodate a range of different sports, the facility can be used to accommodate a number of indoor activities including netball, badminton, table tennis and trampolining.
Our indoor cricket nets and bowling machines are a key part of our facilities here, enabling our cricketers to enjoy a winter programme of cricket practice to supplement their summer work.
All-weather playing surfaces
In Britain, the weather takes no prisoners! Yet come rain or shine, at Haileybury, pupils can compete in a range of different sports using our fully-equipped all-weather playing surfaces. Complete with floodlights for use in poor weather and in winter, a range of sports can be played safely and competitively including hockey, football, lacrosse and much more.
Squash and rackets courts
Haileybury of course is well-known for its rackets court but the Sports Complex also offers excellent squash facilities too. The Complex boasts four top-quality glass-backed squash courts available to hire for members and non-members, with each court available for hire in slots of 45 minutes. There is also an active Squash Club which is open to all members of the public.
