It promises to be an engaging, informative and fun day of Orchestral music, ideally suited to brass, strings, woodwind and orchestral percussion players. A full programme comprising sectional rehearsals and side-by-side work with Haileybury music scholars will culminate in a final recital for parents and family at the end of the day.

Event information

• Each school is invited to bring a group of 10 pupils. However, nearer to the time and subject to demand, we may be able to open the event up to a greater number of pupils on a first-come, first-served basis. 
• The event is suitable for all standards of musicians, from beginners through to advanced. The only requirement is that pupils must be in Year 4, 5 or 6 and currently playing an Orchestral or Concert Band instrument, including brass, strings, woodwind, or orchestral percussion. Year 7 pupils may also attend subject to availability. Drum Kit players may also like to try out orchestral percussion for the first time.
• The repertoire of music has been chosen to allow for performance in schools with different varieties of music ensembles. The scores will be released during the Spring term to allow for rehearsal time.
• The day will run from 10.30-5.00 pm. Lunch and refreshments will be provided to all pupils and staff.
• Parents and family members are invited to Haileybury from 3.30 pm to watch the final recital

Orchestral outreach sessions:
The Haileybury Music department is pleased to offer visits to your school by our Heads of instrumental sections and Director of Music to work with your pupils. The visit will take the shape of a workshop to introduce the repertoire of music that your pupils will be playing on the day. Further options also exist for exploration of instrumental music as well as introductory sessions for beginners.
