Haileybury Leaders

The Haileybury Leaders Mentoring Programme is a specialised mentoring initiative created for OHs. A year long relationship caters to individuals wanting long-term career support. Successful applicants are matched with an experienced mentor who aligns with the mentee’s career ambitions and goals.

Truly fundamental, insightful and instructive. Inspiring not only for my intended career goals, but also for personal growth.

Who should apply?

Haileybury Leaders is open to all OHs who feel they would benefit from a dedicated mentor to support their career goals. We would especially encourage you to apply if:

  • You are are nearing the end of your studies and would like advice for starting your career
  • You are early in your career and would like support in defining your next steps
  • You are keen to find out more about a specific sector/industry and whether it’s right for you
  • You are considering changing career paths or switching to a different industry
  • You would like to get back into work after a career break

Matching process

The selection and matching process takes place during the Autumn term. After submitting an application, you will be invited to a video interview so we can better understand your aspirations and needs. Each year’s cohort holds about 30 pairs of mentees and mentors who are carefully matched on:

  • Industry of interest
  • Goals & aspirations
  • Career Trajectory

If a suitable match is found, you will be introduced in January. The programme runs for one year, from January through to December. While the structure is flexible, participants are encouraged to meet with their mentor at least three times and maintain regular communication via phone or email as agreed.

Support & Resources

Before starting the programme you will receive a comprehensive Haileybury Leaders resource and information pack which includes suggestions for how to structure the partnership, guidance for setting goals and useful resources. Throughout your experience you will also receive ongoing communication and support from the Development Office including regular check-ins.

Each year we hold a Leaders Mentoring Reception to give past and upcoming cohorts the opportunity to meet face-to-face and network within the Haileybury Community. This year’s theme is: ‘The Power of Connection’ and explores the countless avenues mentorship relationships can uncover within your career. Details of the event will be sent via email to successful applicants.

Applications for the 2026 cycle of the Haileybury Leaders Programme are now closed. To register your interest for next year’s programme, please complete the form below.
