Outdoor Spaces
Nestled within the grounds of Haileybury, Hailey Wood is a beautiful and unique outdoor space designed to inspire and delight our pupils. This serene woodland setting features a covered outdoor cooking area, providing a perfect spot to gather, prepare, and share delicious meals in the fresh air.
Hailey Wood isn’t just about relaxing—it’s a place where pupils develop valuable life skills through outdoor cooking and hands-on activities. Pupils laugh, learn and bond with their friends as they explore the natural environment and sharpen their outdoor skills.
For our Lower School pupils, Hailey Wood holds even more magic. It’s here that they experience the thrill of camping, building campsites under the trees, and embracing the adventure of outdoor living. This treasured space encourages curiosity, teamwork, and a lifelong appreciation for nature.
“Today, we’ve had a great day in the woods. It was so much fun and I loved being with my friends and doing all the activities. The cooking and eating was also good; my chocolate banana was delicious.“

The Lower School pupils love spending time in our outdoor learning environment. From camping out to the songs around the firepit to arts and crafts using what they can find in the woodland environment- it offers the perfect space for them to explore and learn.
