Support Mr Irving's Marathon Effort
This Easter break, many Haileyburians will be enjoying a relaxing holiday, studying hard for exams, eating far too many Easter eggs, or possibly doing all three. Bill Irving, teacher of Physics and new HM of Trevelyan from this September, will however, be running the Brighton Marathon on 14 April along with his son Henry (L11). Henry is an Officer Cadet at Welbeck and with fellow Officer Cadet Sam Woodward, the trio are running to raise funds for Help for Heroes.
Since it was established in 2007, Help for Heroes has raised millions of pounds to support injured servicemen and women, with projects such as specialist rehabilitation and recovery centres, charitable grants and re-training.
Bill Irving explains, "At least one Old Haileyburian is currently benefitting from the work being done by Help for Heroes having been seriously injured last year in Afghanistan."
