It went swimmingly: Lower School swam and ran for Haileybury Youth Trust

Haileybury’s Aquathlon saw 120 pupils swim thousands of metres and run scores of kilometres in the sun, raising more than £4000 for Haileybury Youth Trust’s (HYT) One Million Litres campaign along the way.

Lower School pupil Savannah said “My favourite part of the Aquathlon was getting the support of my peers and being able to support them too. I really enjoyed the running at the end, knowing you only have one more lap left and then you can cross the finish line. It was great being able to do it for charity.”

HYT is Haileybury’s award-winning international charity, training Ugandans and refugees in climate-friendly construction, while transforming communities with new schools, kitchens and water storage tanks.

‘The Lower School has got the ball rolling wonderfully in our fund-raising for HYT this year,’ said Director Russell Matcham. ‘Another incentive is that we have a donor who will match anything raised at school, up to £25,000, which is fantastic news.’

Donations for Lower School’s excellent efforts can still be made here.
