Fashion Extravaganza III launched

Plans are being finalised for the third Haileybury Fashion Extravaganza, to be held at Haileybury on Sunday, 13 March 2011.

The last fashion show, focusing on the changing fashions of the past 200 years, was held in 2006 as part of Haileybury’s bi-centenary celebrations. The new show, created especially for and by Haileybury pupils and members of the wider Haileybury community, will focus on exploring the world through a fusion of fashion and music. The show will feature catwalk collections created by designers of international repute, representing many of those countries from whom our own pupils originate.

The show will be produced by Lindsey Hunt, one of the UK’s leading fashion producers who creates shows for high-end fashion couture and recently worked on Gok Wan’s How to Look Good Naked. The patron for the show is top fashion designer Karen Millen OBE, also patron of one of the three charities we have chosen to support through this event.

An International Affair promises to be a highly professional and exciting production and will be performed twice, once at 2.30pm and again for the black tie gala performance at 7.30pm following a champagne reception. The first half of the show will focus on the varying design styles of the countries represented, while glorious wedding scenes from each country will bring the show to its conclusion.

The show includes about 80 pupil models, selected by STORM, a leading model agency. In addition, dozens of pupils will take part on stage as comperes, or as dancers and singers providing music relevant to each country.
