Energy Self-sufficiency and Reduction
Achievements to date
- Working with ReEnergise, we are putting in place a number of energy-saving measures.
- The hockey astro lights have been changed to LED.
- A replacement light programme across the school is underway to convert to LED.
- A new heating protocol has been introduced that will limit the amount of gas the School uses at times when gas is not required
- The period of time that the swimming pool is covered will be extended to prevent heat loss
- There will be a reduction in the pool temperature by one degree
- A comprehensive sustainability review of all the core buildings will be undertaken with focus on window quality and roof insulation
- Haileybury engaged Zellar, the sustainability platform, to review the School’s carbon footprint and provide a blueprint for zero carbon and energy self-sufficiency.
