Colvin wins inter-House HPA quiz
The Haileybury Parents’ Association (HPA) held its first social event of the new academic year for parents last Saturday evening, and what a fun evening it turned out to be!
Eleven tables of parents, many joined by their Housemistresses/masters, battled it out in a spirit of ‘friendly’ competition to win the Inter-House Challenge. Three of the Houses doubled their odds by managing to field two enthusiastic tables each. Sadly, some of the Houses were not represented, which was a great shame as the winners scooped £100 and £50 respectively for their sons and daughters to spend in-House.
The girls’ Houses triumphed, with Colvin winning and Allenby coming a close second. The Lawrence table won the prize for the best table name, and Edmonstone Table 2 won the Dunce’s Cap – actually boxes of Smarties, but it was all only a bit of fun, after all!
This was an excellent evening, superbly organised, with lots of fun had by all, as was demonstrated by the amount of difficulty we had after the quiz finished to persuade everyone it was time to go home.
Please look out for details of more HPA events during the year, and we hope to see many more parents as the school year proceeds.
