Cavaleri Quartet, Thursday 31 January
CAVALERI QUARTET – Workshop and Final Concert
Bradby Hall, workshop 4.45pm; Concert 8.30pm
This young quartet has become internationally recognised in no time at all – because they are brilliant. They will be working with our composers in a workshop and the concert programme includes two winning compositions from our pupils.
This will be their final concert in our Artists in Residence scheme. The Cavaleri Quartet has been gaining a reputation as one of the leading European string quartets since its formation in 2008. Their very latest accolade was winning in the 2012 Hamburg International Chamber Music Competition and ‘Special Prize’ winners in the 2011 Premio Paolo Borciani International String Quartet Competiton. They came to prominence in the UK after winning the Royal Over-Seas League Competition in 2011, their Wigmore Hall London debut in 2010 and Southbank debut at the Purcell Room in 2008 as Park Lane Group Young Artists. Currently, they hold positions as Quartet in Residence at Oxford University and as Ambassadors for the European String Teachers’ Association. They were recently selected for the Countess of Munster Recital Scheme, the Kirckman Concerts Society and the Musicians Benevolent Fund Ensembles Awards.
All welcome – no tickets required.
