Antonio sets new personal best for 60m
Antonio Infantino (Tr) gained a bronze medal in the Under 20 men’s 60m South of England Indoor championships last Saturday, after setting a new personal best of 6.87s in the final.
The meeting was held at the new Lee Valley indoor stadium, and there were more than 60 competitors in the event. Antonio ran the fastest time of 6.94s in the first round and again was the fastest qualifier in the semi-final, in a time of 6.93s.
His next indoor events will be at the World Senior 60m Indoor Trials in Sheffield in February and the National Indoor Championships for junior Under 20 men in March.
Antonio has recently been accepted on to the UK Athletics World Class Programme, which means he benefits from a designated UKA Talent Manager, expert sprint coaches and strength and conditioning coaches who come to Haileybury on a weekly basis to help him train.
