Dance at Haileybury is available through activities, lessons and as part of the sports programme.
As a sport elective, pupils have the opportunity to engage in dance three times each week, building towards the annual dance show. Weekly lessons are available in a range of styles from street, modern, ballet to tap and contemporary. Dance also forms part of the extensive co-curricular programme available through Wednesday activities.
Pupils engage in a mixture of styles, building towards the annual dance show in February.
Under the guidance of coordinator Michelle King and choreographer Sabrina Rose-Jean, pupils explore contemporary, street, modern and jazz. Occasional masterclasses in Lindy-Hop, Tap or Bollywood may complement the programme.
Celebrated by the awarding of the Jenifer Scarff memorial cup, dance at Haileybury provides exercise, discipline, creativity, expression and fun and safe environment. Solo lessons are also available allowing pupils to pursue the IDTA Ballet as well as RAD Ballet Syllabus, or other styles.
