Director of Admissions
Director of Admissions
The closing date for applications is 10.00am on Monday 28 March 2022
This is an exceptional opportunity for an outstanding Director of Admissions to lead and develop the admissions function at Haileybury. Reporting directly to the Master, this is a pivotal and senior role. In close liaison with the Master, the post holder will take strategic responsibility for all matters relating to pupil recruitment and will be a key public face of the school.
Pupil numbers are buoyant and the school is over-subscribed at all entry points. Demand for boarding remains strong; 70% of the senior school pupils are boarders. Haileybury is hugely ambitious. We are about to build a state-of-the-art science centre, and future capital projects include a new theatre and a cricket centre. As we emerge from the pandemic, we are looking to refresh our whole-school Strategic Plan, and the Director of Admissions’ input into these strategic discussions will be key.
The role of Director of Admissions is a demanding and wide-ranging senior post requiring a proactive and outgoing approach. Excellent oral and written communication skills combined with the ability to form strong relationships are essential. The ideal candidate will be a passionate advocate for Haileybury’s values and have a demonstrable track record in high-quality stakeholder engagement and relationship management, gained from within or outside the education sector. Prior experience in a schools admissions context is not essential but the successful candidate will have good knowledge of the independent educational landscape combined with a keen understanding of the factors which drive parents to consider and invest in an independent boarding education for their children.
Interested candidates are invited to contact RSAcademics to arrange an informal and confidential discussion about the role: Nina Lambert NinaLambert@rsacademics.com
