Science Technician (Biology)

Haileybury’s Science department is divided between Biology, Physics and Chemistry, which are supported by a team of experienced technicians. The part-time Science Technician (Biology) will work alongside the full time Biology Technician and on occasion, the Senior Science Technician, to provide a full range of technical support and general assistance to the Head of Biology and other members of the Science department; ensuring that an excellent service is provided at all times.
The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and strong working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and the use of hazards, hazard warning labels and protective equipment within a biology laboratory.
The post holder will be required to work 15 hours per week, during term-time. The nature of a 24hr a day, 7 days per week boarding school requires staff to work flexibly and there may be a requirement for the jobholder to work reasonable additional hours and early mornings, evenings and weekends.
