U13 girls win second netball trophy
Haileybury’s Under 13A netball squad racked up their second trophy of the season when they won the Lea Valley Tournament yesterday.
They cruised through the early stages, beating Turnford 13-0, Simon Balle 12-3 and Presdales 8-1. Haileybury then hit top form in the semi-final, beating Goffs 18-1, with shooters Molly Maisey and Phoebe Stirling in outstanding form.
The final was a tense affair against a strong Broxbourne team which went goal for goal in the early stages. Haileybury managed to secure a 2 goal lead but Broxbourne fought back to equalise at 7-7 just before full time. 5 minutes extra time saw Haileybury narrowly scrape victory 9-8.
