JiveSwing Dance Company at Haileybury, Friday 14 February

A presentation of Swing Dance directed by JiveSwing Dance Company will take place on the final Friday lunchtime of this half term (1.40 pm - 2.20 pm, Big School) Jiveswing have been running a dance camp at Haileybury for many years, drawing in dancers and dance teachers from around the world. For the first time this year they will present an exhibition of the dance style, drawing on access to world class professionals and some of the original creators of Swing Dance. Design Technology Show, Friday 7 February, 7.00 pm

The Design Technology department will be holding its annual DT Show on Friday 7 February, 7.00 pm – 9.30 pm. The evening will consist of demonstrations, displays of design and practical work from all year groups as well as opportunities to have a go at designing by hand and on computers. There will also be one or two practical challenges on offer and the chance to try some laser-cutting and discuss on-going assignments with some of the pupils. Chapel Organ Recital, Thursday & Friday 31 January

This week, James Gough, the College Organist, will present an astonishing programme of works, including Dupré's fiendishly difficult Variations sur un Noël. Come along to hear James' wonderful playing on the Chapel's magnificent Klais organ. The programme will last about an hour. James will perform the recital twice to enable as many as possible to attend: Thursday 30 January in the evening at 7.30 pm; and again on Friday 31 January lunchtime at 1.30 pm. Secret Art Exhibition and House Art Competition opens Wednesday 29 January

The Art Department has been busy creating an exhibition of the postcards submitted for the Secret Art sale as well as curating the House Art Competition. Come to the Attlee Room on Wednesday evening to view the fantastic variety of art on show. The exhibition opens at 6.30 pm and following the announcements for the House Art competition at 7.00 pm the Secret Art postcards will be sold for £5 each for charity. Whose Secret Art will you buy? Recycling at its simple best: Second Hand Uniform

As Spring Term begins, sports kits, blazers, kilts and ties will re-surface from laundry baskets, dry cleaners and wardrobes everywhere in preparation for the start of term. If your son or daughter has outgrown any of their uniform items, please consider donating it to the Second Hand Uniform 'shop' run by the HPA. All money raised goes to the Haileybury Youth Trust, truly a cause worth recycling for. It is also a simple way to buy an extra jumper, kilt, hoody or even blazer at relatively short notice.
