Yearling A football team go unbeaten

28 March 2012

This term, the Yearlings A Football team, led by captain Freddie Walker, have won six out of eight matches and drawn the other two. The season started with a 9-0 win away at Oakham and hatricks for William Vooght and Israel Okeowo. The goals were not as free flowing in the second game, away at Berkhampstead, which ended 2-2. Colts A and B teams in wins V Aldenham

19 March 2012

Colts A won 3-0 V Aldenham The Colts A were made to work very hard by an athletic, spirited Aldenham side. Haileybury started the stronger of the two teams but found it very hard to create clear-cut chances despite some neat play in the midfield. The back line mopped up effectively so that Tom Miller didn't touch the ball in the first half but we were unable to take the lead until three minutes before half time when George McConachie hit a sweet short corner strike into the bottom corner. Aldenham continued to fight hard in the second half, despite  > more

6-0 win for 1st XI

19 March 2012

Three goals either side of half time brought a thoroughly deserved seventh win out of eight games for the 1st XI boys' squad. It was a highly impressive performance from a highly organised and professional group. Will Stanyard snaffled a clinical hat-trick, whilst Sam King and Dom Tivey took their chances with aplomb. Conceding only one goal in five games since half term reflects the excellence of the defensive unit, as well as the determined spirit that this whole squad has. Lewis Green and Ed Graves were particularly to the fore this  > more

Haileybury are the Hertfordshire Under 18 7s Champions! In almost ideal conditions the team, who were shorn of Captain Toby Saysell and 1st XV centre Jesse Waites through injury, rose to every challenge set them. The team played some excellent sevens during the day. In the group stage, they scored over 140 points and only conceded 19. St Columba's proved tricky opposition in the quarter final where we scraped through 21-17. 3 March 2012

Goal: Nilesh Bhugoowan POM: Nilesh Bhugoowan The Yearlings A team secured their best result of the season against a talented Haberdashers side. The boys played with wonderful commitment and determination throughout. Nilesh Bhugoowan kept up his remarkable scoring run (he has scored in every game this season). This was probably his best goal too, as he beat three before calmly putting the ball in the bottom corner. This was a complete team performance, but the back four (Arnie Englander, Eric Chu, Jack Reed and Alistair Walker) were  > more

3rd XI win 3-2

3 March 2012

The 3rd XI hockey team had an excellent win today, with a fantastic team performance overall for the full 60 minutes. Goals were scored by Jordan Carter, Albert King and Ralph Lane. It is very hard to pick a PoM as there were many excellent performances, notably Sam Reed, Ralph Lane and Albert King. However, the award goes to Hugo Cannon for bossing things in the middle of the park all game. Well done!  > more

3 March 2012

1st XI v Haberdashers WON 2-1 (Tivey, Stanyard) After a lethargic opening five minutes, the 1st XI woke up and strung together a razor sharp 25 minutes of hockey. Josh Alibhai was particularly to the fore and threaded a lightening bolt pass to Dom Tivey to deflect in for the stunning opener. Charlie Carr was dynamism personified, confident on the ball and wisely distributing percentage passes. Will Stanyard kept up his scoring vein and slotted a second from the inside right channel. Several other gilt-edged chances were spurned though  > more
