Haileybury will continue to function with lessons and extra-curricular activities going ahead throughout the day during tomorrow's public sector workers strike. We are thrilled to announce that Haileybury's Chamber Choir has become one of six senior school choirs to make it through to the 2012 Songs of Praise School Choir of the Year. Guaranteed a performance on national television in front of an audience of 1500 in Manchester and many more than that on BBC 1, the semi-finals and finals are on 11 and 12 February 2012. The choir will be performing two works - Angel Voices (Director of Music Quentin Thomas's arrangement of the hymn) and the traditional spiritual, Steal Away. This honour coincides with

Congratulations to Fifths pupil Mayowa Balogun (K), who has been selected to represent ISFA South Under 16s in a match against ISFA North on Sunday, 27 November at Repton School. This follows an excellent match against Kent Schools last Sunday, 13 November. Mayowa will be part of a 14-man squad for the match against the Northerners and kick off is 2pm.

Charlie Carr, Owen Ligett, Henry Firth and Okemdi Chukwu have been invited by Saracens to participate in a Remembrance Day service at Vicarage Road on Sunday. Owen will play the Last Post with two flag bearers, in front of the main stand, as the teams line up, and will then take their places in the stand to watch the game against Benetton Treviso.

Congratulations to Henry Douch (E), Alex McCormick (BFr) and James Brooking (K), who have all been selected for the Hertfordshire Under 15 rugby squad. The boys were selected after a gruelling selection process, which involved three trials in St. Albans over a four-week period, where they were competing against boys from across the county. Henry and Alex will now be in contention for three representative matches in the Spring, against other county sides.
