Another year of excellent IB scores, with a third of results 40+

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) pupils from Haileybury have achieved a 100% pass rate in their 2011 exams results, with nearly a third securing 40 points or more out of a maximum of 45. The results included 26 pupils who obtained a Bilingual Diploma, which necessitates the study of literature in two different languages. Lewis and Mollie win Haileybury Cup

On Friday 1 July, the Haileybury team of Lewis Colson (Th) and Mollie Mendoza (C) won the inaugural Haileybury Cup debating competition. Part of Haileybury Week, the Haileybury Cup is an invitational debating competition in the mace style. Haileybury beat off strong competition from Berkhamstead and Kind Edward VI Bury St Edmunds to win the trophy. During the competition, they proposed that there is no such thing as positive discrimination and opposed the idea of banning taxpayer support for religious groups.  > more
