Musicians help raise money for GOSH

Haileybury musicians were able to support Great Ormond Street Hospital on Thursday, 19 November with an unusual concert in London. Pupils from both Haileybury and Richard Hale School merged forces with the soprano soloist, Lucy Taylor and the Brentwood British Legion Youth Band (who blasted out a fanfare to commence the festivities) to perform an all-Mozart programme to an audience that included Mayors, dignitaries and the Alderman of the City. Elizabeth wins MVP award

Elizabeth Edgley (Aby) was named Most Valuable Player for Haileybury at the Under 15 Herts Indoor County lacrosse tournament, which took place last Friday. She won the award for her outstanding attacking drives and goals as well as for solid defensive play throughout the evening. The team played extremely well and produced some excellent scores, winning three matches and losing three overall. The Brocket Consort, directed by Quentin Thomas, are performing their annual Evening of Carols and Readings in Haileybury Chapel at 8pm on Saturday, 19 December in aid of the Haileybury Youth Trust and Magwa Primary School. Under 13 boys reach ISFA quarters

The undefeated Lower School Under 13A team last week played in the 3rd round of the ISFA Rensberg Sheppard U13 Cup against Highfield School in Hamsphire, beating them 2-1. The Haileybury boys played some intelligent football in some extremely testing weather conditions and took the lead after just two minutes, working the ball at speed from right to left and through for Callum Scutt who finished emphatically into the far side netting. Pupils attend MUN conference in Athens

A group of Haileybury pupils attended the DSAMUN09 conference in Athens over half term. One of the delegates, Harry Sheehan, writes of the experience: "The Athens conference is very different from all of the other MUN conferences attended by Haileybury delegates. Aside from the fact that it is in Greece, we are always surprised by the differences in style and the flow of the conference.
