Haileybury's Italian pupils were given a rare treat at the latest Society meeting on Wednesday, 14 October. Claudia Parrinello, Thomas Moniz and Katie Brooks grabbed everyone's attention with a fascinating look at the world of fashion and the influence of Milan on contemporary Italian society. Versace and D&G were the key ingredients of their great presentation. Congratulations to Lucy Smith, who has been selected for the Under 15 County B lacrosse team, and to Emma Clark, who was selected for the Under 19 County B team. During her first game (Herts vs Kent), Emma was identified and asked to attend the East of England trials. Unfortunately, she was unsuccessful but this was an impressive achievement for Haileybury and the first such accolade in the last few years.

Lower School 1 pupils have enjoyed a fun start to their music lessons at Haileybury, with introductions to rare instruments by expert teachers. This even included a class rendition on the Flintstones on violins and cello! They have also had a look at the saxophone, seeing

Eleven tables of parents, many joined by their Housemistresses/masters, battled it out in a spirit of 'friendly' competition to win the Inter-House Challenge. Three of the Houses doubled their odds by managing to field two enthusiastic tables each. Sadly, some of the Houses were not represented, which was a great shame as the winners scooped £100 and £50

Fifths pupil Mark Agass (Th) has been selected for the Saxon Tigers hockey team, an amalgamation of the East and South Regional teams. Only two other players from the East made it through to this stage. This means Mark is now in the spotlight for possible England selection when his team plays other amalgamated teams in a four-day Futures Cup tournament during the October half term. Congratulations to Mark!
