Lockers Park are Technology Challenge winners

Lockers Park has taken the title for this year's Prep Schools Technology Challenge, which is in its third year. Nine schools took part and the teams, each consisting of three Year 6 pupils, spent some 2½ hours designing, making and testing devices to satisfy the practical tasks that were set by Technology teacher, Graeme Macpherson-Smith. Three prominent judges for Shakespeare event

Hannah Grundy, who played Emilia in Othello, Charlie Hicks, as Capulet, and Cameron Rycroft, as the Friar in Romeo and Juliet, were the Cup winners of this year's Shakespeare in the Park. More than 65 Year 9 drama students (Removes) performed excerpts from some of Shakespeare's plays, including Hamlet, Othello, Romeo and Juliet, Loves' Labours Lost, Merry Wives of Windsor, Merchant of Venice and Richard III, to an audience of parents and staff who had gathered to watch the spectacle on the Terrace Gardens on a sunny Friday afternoon  > more

92 children on Activity Morning

We recently welcomed 92 8 to 11-year-old children to Haileybury for the summer Activity Morning. The children came from a wide range of prep schools to take part in the day's events to get a feel of life at Haileybury. Twenty Edge Grove pupils stayed with us the night before to experience boarding here. This is an annual event set up between our two schools. The 10 boys and 10 girls enjoyed a BBQ on Pavilion and plenty of games in the grounds with some of our pupils before retiring to various Houses to spend the night amongst our own boarders. Four first places in county athletics

Haileybury maintained its excellent record of producing County Champions by coming away with four first places at this year's event in Hemel Hempstead. Antonio Infantino equalled two County records along the way, in the 100m and 200m, that have stood for 23 years! Our athletes' performances include: U17 - Boys 400m Hurdles - 1st Robert Macpherson-Smith 63.5secs Triple Jump - 5th Robert Macpherson-Smith 11.05m High Jump - 1st Jack Hobbs 1.87m 100m - 1st Antonio Infantino 10.90secs (= County Record) 200m - 1st Antonio Infantino 22.10secs  > more

My Lord, Chairman of Council, distinguished guests, ladies and gentlemen, may I please add my words of welcome to those of the Chairman. We are indeed honoured that you are here in such numbers to recognise and celebrate the achievements of the Haileybury pupils on this our most important day of the year. John McCarthy speaks of his experiences in Beirut

More than 1 500 pupils, teachers, parents and special guests gathered at Haileybury's annual Speech Day last Saturday to hear a talk by John McCarthy, the journalist who was held hostage in Beirut from 1986 to 1991. Mr McCarthy spoke extensively of his "truly awful" ordeal, adding that a return to Haileybury (he was a pupil there from 1970 – 1974) had brought back many memories.
