The International Baccalaureate results 2002 have just been published. Haileybury's 21 candidates this year produced an average points score of 35.2 which was a truly excellent achievement. Our two IB Oxford candidates, Janna Schmidt-Holtz (C) and Darren Gerard (H), met their conditional offers of 39 points with something to spare, achieving 42 and 41 points respectively. Following the much-acclaimed design of the Haileybury swimming pool, we are proud to report another architectural triumph. The new girls' house project that resulted in Colvin and Melvill, the design of Studio E Architects and built at no small expense, is one of 58 quality buildings from across Britain and the European Union to receive an award from The Royal Institute of British Architects. All 58 projects are now considered for the Stirling Award to be given in September.
