John McCarthy guest of honour at Speech Day
The broadcaster and author, John McCarthy (OH), will be guest of honour at Speech Day on Saturday.
In addition to his media work, Mr McCarthy is also well-known as Britain’s longest held hostage, having been in captivity for five years in Beirut from 1986 to 1991. He was made a CBE in 1992.
