Gold medal in Chemistry Olympiad for Robert

An Upper Sixth student at Haileybury, Robert Millar, has won a gold medal in the Chemistry Olympiad, making him one of the top 46 Chemistry students in his age group in the UK.

The Chemistry Olympiad, organised by the Royal Society of Chemistry, is an academic competition designed to stretch the most able Upper Sixth pupils. Out of this year’s 854 entries, only 46 were awarded gold, one of whom was Robert.

This is the second time this term a Haileybury pupil has achieved a Science accolade. Seventeen-year-old Barney Sleep was recently named as one of the top 50 Physics students in the UK, following the Physics Olympiad, and has gone through to the first selection round for the British team for the 2004 International Physics Olympiad to be held in South Korea in July.
