Eleven Oxbridge offers made for Sept 2005

Eleven Haileybury pupils have received conditional Oxbridge offers for September 2005, a substantial increase on the number of candidates accepted last year.

Among the candidates is Frances Burn, who has won a choral scholarship to Trinity College, Cambridge in addition to being offered a place to read Philosophy from next year.

Trinity’s Chapel Choir is traditionally regarded as the most prestigious mixed voice choir in Cambridge thanks to its international reputation.

Frances says she wants to take advantage of everything Trinity can offer her in terms of academics, music and possibly drama.

"My Haileybury education has helped me achieve this exciting accolade by giving me opportunities that drove me forwards to try and achieve the highest grades and achievements in life that I could," she says.

Says Haileybury’s Director of Music, Peter Davis: "I am absolutely delighted that one of our most talented and committed choral singers has been recognised with the award of such a prestigious scholarship."
