Autumn of music starts on a high note

An autumn of music at Haileybury started on a high note this week with a melodic Schubertiade recital.

Pupils performed to concert-goers in the light and airy surroundings of the Music School's Atrium on Tuesday evening.

The recital celebrated the music of renowned Austrian composer Franz Schubert, who is widely considered to be the last of the classical composers and one of the first romantic ones.

This was the first concert under Haileybury's new Director of Music, Andrew O'Brien, who is Director of Music Emeritus, Holy Trinity Church, Sloane Square, and was previously Director of Music at Heath Mount School.

Other musical highlights set to take place at Haileybury over the coming weeks include a performance by opera star Sara Fulgoni tomorrow (Thursday 29 September) at 7.45 pm in Bradby Hall – tickets are still available from our Box Office or alternatively on the door.

Rutter Requiem, a reflective choral and orchestral concert of the Latin requiem with added psalms in English, will take place in the beautiful setting of our Chapel on Friday 11 November.
