Wisam al-Istiqial Order of Independence - Established by Hussain ibn Ali as an award for civilian or military merit. This order was first awarded (1921-25) in the Hejaz. Established: By Emir Hussain I ibn Ali in 1921. Obverse: A ten-pointed silver star with a smaller five-pointed gold star in white enamel, mounted on a gold wreath. Picture shown is the Commander's badge.

Grand Cordon / First Class  awarded to princes, heads of state, and others of similar rank. Grand Officer / Second Class -- awarded to ministers, under-secretaries, and others of similar rank. Commander / Third Class . Officer / Fourth Class .Knight / Fifth Class - 

Medal of Independence (1921-54) - intended for award to junior officers and enlisted men of the Arab Army (later, "Arab Legion") and police
