Liaison Librarian

Permanent; Full Time, TTO (plus some holiday working requirement)

37.5 hours per week

Due to continued growth at Haileybury, we have an exciting opportunity for a Liaison Librarian to manage the administration and running of the Information and Knowledge Service, this will also include supporting the Director of Learning and Research to develop an overview and strategy for the Haileybury Information and Knowledge Service each year.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide information and research skills for pupils and teachers in the form of lessons and one to one support, along with developing resources to support academic departments and the International Baccalaureate diploma. The Liaison Librarian will act as a liaison between the Information and Knowledge Service for pupils, teaching staff and academic departments. The post will support the Director of Learning and Research in meeting the strategic plan for Learning and Research through the Haileybury Information and Knowledge Service Librarian.

The post holder will be required to work 37.5 hours per week along with covering evening duties once a week (approx. 2 hours, dinner included). The nature of a 24hr a day, 7 days per week boarding school requires staff to work flexibly and there may be a requirement for the jobholder to work reasonable additional hours and early mornings, evenings and weekends. The successful candidate is required to have a degree or postgraduate qualification in Library and Information Studies or Chartered Librarian.
