Robert Beckh published a collection of poems "SWALLOWS IN STORM AND SUNLIGHT". He had spent just one year at Jesus College, Cambridge before volunteering with his very close friend from Prep. School years. An early poem expresses his disgust that, even in wartime, industrial unrest should afflict the Nation. Beckh spent most of 1915 training. He was sent  to the Front in June 1916. Robert was killed passing back through the enemy's wire with his 4 man patrol. on the night of August 15th.
