Scripted GCSE performance

GCSE Drama component 2 ‘Performing from a Text’ challenges pupils to interpret extracts from published scripts in a performance exam assessed by an outside examiner. Staged in the Ayckbourn Theatre with full light, sound, set and costume, these pieces represent the pinnacle of their acting assessment as GCSE pupils. They promise to be thrilling, entertaining and varied, providing a wonderful evening for all. Past exams have featured material ranging from classical Shakespeare through Ibsen’s naturalism, to the absurdism of Beckett and right up to new writing from the 21st Century. Something for everyone.
