We would like to welcome you to Haileybury and hope to give you a brief introduction to the School and its community. We also encourage you to visit us in person so that you can experience the School first hand. We are sure that it will be worthwhile to see our community at its vibrant, dynamic best.
Together with the Deputy Heads of School, Rowena Sharp and Toby Saysell (they are to the extreme left and right of the photo above, with Alice and Dhruv in the middle!), we have participated in many of the wonderful activities here; from academics to sports to the arts. We have benefited greatly from the holistic education that is so valued at our school; each pupil can excel at their chosen field and also develop into an all-rounder. We know that we are privileged to access the facilities on offer and make every effort to capitalise on them.
As we begin our last year at Haileybury, we have come to realise that the friendships we have made will undoubtedly endure, regardless of where we find ourselves in the future. This School has imbibed in us a strong sense of community, and this is an integral part of life here. More importantly, the values espoused by the School - those of courage and service - will always stand us in good stead.
Apart from knowledge, our lessons teach us to be perseverant, conscientious and independent in our learning; these skills are now essential for success at university and beyond. We hope that our time here has prepared us well for the challenges that lie ahead of us, andwe know that we have thoroughly enjoyed it.
We hope this website will provide you with useful information, whether you would like to study here or are simply interested in the School. Haileybury is always humming with activity, and we would love to show you around if you do choose to visit.
With best wishes,
Alice Billings and Dhruv Sarma
Heads of School for 2011/12
