Haileybury, in partnership with Legends Tennis, opened a state-of-the-art tennis facility in mid-2008. It houses four Grand Slam-quality indoor courts and four outdoor courts which feature the new Plexipave Prestige court surface, alongside a fully equipped clubhouse.
The Plexipave Prestige court surface is used at the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament and offers a first-class playing experience with its cushioning system that dynamically responds to impact and reduces fatigue on muscles and joints.
The 2013 Australian Open marked the sixth consecutive year that the world-renowned Grand Slam has selected this tennis surface. Legends wanted to mirror the signature Australian Open colours, developed specifically for the tournament in 2007, which are distinctive and enhance ball visibility for players and spectators. Legends' courts have the highest level of surface cushioning designed to provide young players with the best surface performance and safe training.
According to coaches, when tournament competitors play on Plexicushion, they are unhindered by surface inconsistencies, allowing a level of play which truly reflects the athlete's skill. World Number 1 - Novak Djokovic became the first man in the Open era and the third overall to win three consecutive Australian titles, joining Australians Jack Crawford (1931-33) and five-time winner Roy Emerson (1963-67): "What a joy, it's an incredible feeling winning this trophy once more and it's definitely my favourite Grand Slam, my most successful Grand Slam, I love this court."
Legends' purpose-built clubhouse has fantastic views on to the indoor and outdoor courts and the lounge areas provide a relaxing environment for members to socialise and enjoy a snack from the coffee shop.
There is also a tennis shop, which offers a wide range of tennis merchandise, as well as an in-house physiotherapist, who provides support for injury prevention and rehabilitation treatment to help maintain a healthy body.
