Sporting Success
Haileybury has enjoyed considerable success in recent years, with both teams and individuals excelling.
The Yearlings A footballers were undefeated in the Spring term 2010, having notched up seven wins and one draw. The Under 13 netball girls retained their Felsted Tournament title in March 2010, while the 2nd team remained unbeaten for the second consecutive year to extend their record to 27 games without a loss. This year also saw the most successful season in Haileybury hockey history - more wins than have ever been achieved - 22 in total. The 2nd XI remained unbeaten all year, while the 1st XI scored a record 44 goals and demolished the Harrow team 12-0.
On an individual basis, current and past pupils have achieved significantly on a national level. Jamie George, who was Captain of Rugby in 2007 and 2008, represented England at Under 16 and Under 18 level, and in 2009 became the only schoolboy to be selected for the England Under 20 squad. He is the current captain of the Under 21 England rugby side. Sam Billings is an outstanding cricketer who is part of the Kent Academy, and has represented England at Under 15 and Under 17 level. Antonio Infantino (OH) has consistently been ranked the number one sprinter in his age group within the UK and is a member of the Elite Development squad for the 2012 Olympics. Thirteen-year-old Rhiannon Massey has been selected for the Junior National Sailing squad.
We also have a large number of pupils who have been selected for their respective counties and Haileybury encourages and supports them to achieve as much success as they can.
