Football at Haileybury gained recognition in the late 1960s and early 1970s and has grown hugely since then due to the continued demand, enthusiasm and talent of the boys. Today, in the Spring Term, Haileybury fields up to five Senior (Sixth Form) teams and three teams at U16 (Colts), U15 (Junior Colts) and U14 (Yearlings). Haileybury entered the national Boodles ISFA Cup in 1996 as the first Easter Term Football School, reaching the quarter-finals in 2007 and semi-finals in 2008. The calendar year 2007 was the most successful in the school's history as the 1st XI won all its matches - both in the Easter term and the first three rounds of the ISFA Cup in the Christmas Term. During the Easter Term, Haileybury competes against Harrow, Tonbridge, Wellington, St John's (Leatherhead), St Paul's & Radley in a mini-league. In 2011/12, the Yearlings A team were unbeaten in the Easter term, whilst the 1st XI lost only one match. Mayowa Balogun captained the ISFA representative U16 team and Christian Scales represented the U15 team. Mayowa and Christian also play for Sheffield Wednesday & Norwich City respectively.
