The Attlee Bursary Fund

Bursaries are available to all pupils and are assessed by a review of demonstrable financial need.

A bursary can vary in size according to circumstances and may be as high as 100% of the fees. Bursaries are awarded according to need and are dependent upon the funds available to the Master.

Many Haileybury pupils, past and present, have been supported by the Bursary Fund. However, the funds available are never enough to support the demands and Haileybury would like to be in a position to be able to support all requests.

Any successful bursary recipient must satisfy the School's entry requirements and continue to work to their highest ability throughout their time at the School. Parents of a successful scholarship candidate may also apply for a bursary in addition to any fee remission that may be awarded.

Haileybury is not well endowed and we dearly hope that the Haileybury family will join us in supporting the Bursary Fund and thus future generations of Haileybury pupils. If you wish to give to the Haileybury Bursary Fund, please contact the Director of Development or complete and return the "how to give" forms on this website.

Every penny received for both scholarships and bursaries will go directly in to supporting a Haileybury pupil and thus creating a wonderful foundation for their future.

Opening doors to the heart of Haileybury

One of the School's highly acclaimed alumni, Clement Attlee, was a pupil at Haileybury in Lawrence House from 1896. In the years to follow, the Attlee name became synonymous with pioneering work in support of good causes, aimed at extending opportunity.

The current Lord Attlee was approached to see if the Attlee name could be associated with fundraising at Haileybury. We are grateful to him for acknowledging the family connections to the history of Haileybury and in allowing us to use the family name for The Attlee Fund.

We have a passionate wish to support pupils who apply to come to Haileybury but then are restricted in doing so by finances. The Attlee Fund will support bursaries and enable us to help young potential Haileyburians in accessing education at the School without financial restriction. Our ambition is to raise £1 million for the Fund, so that we can support as many young people as possible.

Should you wish to be one of the supporters for The Attlee Fund, please complete the How to make a donation form. Alternatively, contact the Director of Development, Miss Helen Tranter, on 01992 706 239 or via email.

"As an Old Haileyburian, it gives me great pleasure to support the School in any way I can."
