Lightning Oak
It is believed by some that Lightning Oak is more than 400 years old. As an historic symbol of the School, the tree is fondly remembered by all who have been to Haileybury.
The wonderful and symbolic tree shed a couple of boughs earlier in 2011, which we have retrieved and had cut into commemorative gifts for 2012, Haileybury's 150th Anniversary.
There is only a limited stock of the pieces, which range in three sizes:
Small - which can be used as coasters
Medium - as trivets.
Large - as cheese boards or mats.
However, all pieces are unique and none is exactly the same size. This unique memento can be purchased, with all profits going towards the School's fundraising efforts, in particular current sports projects and the Attlee Bursary Fund.
