Charities
Haileybury supports local, national and international charities, believing that pupils of all ages should take the opportunity to create, administrate and lead fund-raising projects to enhance their awareness of those less fortunate and to develop further those skills that are so essential for life beyond Haileybury. Pupils raise money for a huge range of charities, both as part of the School and in their individual capacities. Details of recent and forthcoming fundraising events, including the Charity Ball 2013, can be found in our News pages.
Haileybury pupils and staff are again supporting three charities this year (2012 - 2013): The Bobath Centre, Haileybury Youth Trust and Isabel Hospice.
The Bobath Centre
The Bobath Centre in Finchley is world-renowned for the treatment of children with cerebral palsy. Their aim is to give children the opportunity to get the most out of life by improving their quality and range of movement and giving speech therapy as well. They treat 300 children a year and see the widest range of the condition in the UK.
The Isabel Hospice
Isabel Hospice aims to enhance the quality of life of patients living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses in eastern Hertfordshire. The Hospice offers a range of services including Community Clinical Nurse Specialists, Day Care, Family Support, In-patient Hospice, and a Bereavement Service. A fully trained team of volunteers supports the specialist medical service in providing a warm, caring environment for patients and their families.
Haileybury Youth Trust (HYT)
HYT’s objective is to provide sustainable interventions to improve health, education and training, and employment prospects among impoverished young people in Uganda. Established in 1890, HYT has been working with impoverished young Ugandans since 2006, equipping them with skills and transforming lives. We work together, building for a brighter future.
